It is different, and you cannot "pretend" that it is the same, because it is not.

Pretending means considering something to be real that is not actually real. You're saying you can't pretend it's real because it's not real. Perhaps this lack of imagination/perspective/empathy (or stubborn resistance to engaging it) is what I'm trying to point out?

I have paid $12.50 over the last 6 years. Still owe about 88k. Hoping Warren forgives them

No one's going to forgive the old loans; even if one of your socialist picks make it into office and comes up with some sort of government  single payer college system.  You're still going to owe what you owe.

I think one of Warren's plans is school loan forgiveness. She's not the only one although they have varying degrees of hoops one has to go through.

Not that any of those plans will actually pass.
